Ray Walters took Bear to Celia’s farm in the summer. Due to manipulation, Bear thinks that he is meant to be on the farm and will have to continue living like a slave. He also thinks that he is in connection with Ray, who allows him time off while others are working. Ray gives him drugs that were once used to aid his injuries. But he is addicted to them.
Meanwhile, in the recent episode, the soap fans learned that Ray also likes Bear’s company. Celia told him to deal with Bear and Dylan, as they both could ruin their drug dealing. Ray hit Dylan with his car. But he didn’t want to do anything with Bear. He told Celia that Bear doesn’t know Dylan. This made her angry, and she went to Smithy Cottage to threaten April’s family.
She concluded that she would deal with Bear herself. Thus, Celia went back to the farm. Celia told Paddy’s father that she didn’t know if she could trust him. She referred to him as Bear as the conversation began, but he was adamant about not wanting to be called Ted. Bear told her that the version doesn’t exist anymore.

He went back to the kitchen. He had something in his hands. After Ray hit Dylan, he made Bear clean the car, and he saw blood on the number plate. He had pulled the fake one off the real one and kept it near his bed. He gave it to Celia.
