As the UK hits the final Home and Away episode of 2025, you can already feel that next year is going to be messy in all the ways we love. Breaks, heartbreaks, surprise returns, and a massive cliffhanger are all sitting there waiting for us when the show comes back after Christmas, and, Summer Bay is nowhere near done with the drama.
Bree Says Goodbye After a Big Decision
Bree finally gets the hospital to take safety seriously after her stabbing, and she’s thrilled when every doctor is promised a personal alarm linked straight to police and security. But then she learns someone on the hospital board also works with Doctors Without Borders, and they encourage her to apply again, something she once put aside because of Remi and the chaos in her life.
She ends up getting accepted, but the catch is brutal: she must leave almost immediately. She and Remi share one last night together, something they both think of as their “perfect goodbye,” and then Bree packs up and heads to Belgium to start her new adventure. Her final UK scenes will air at the start of February, so get ready for tissues.
Home and Away: Mackenzie and Levi Hit Their Breaking Point
Mac’s IVF journey has been rough enough, but losing the baby pushed her further away from Levi than he ever expected. She didn’t want to talk about anything and eventually took off to Queensland to help Dean and Ziggy with their newborn, almost like she needed a full escape from her own grief.
Levi, meanwhile, spirals in his own pain and ends up punching a difficult patient at the hospital when Bree gets harassed. His job is now hanging by a thread, and when Mac comes back, she has zero sympathy. Instead, she wants to know why he’d risk everything just when their relationship already feels so fragile.
Harper and Tane’s Custody Drama Turns Explosive
Harper decides she wants to track down her mum after years apart, believing Archie deserves to know his grandmother. Dana, who still carries all the scars of their awful childhood, hates the idea, and Tane absolutely shuts it down when he hears Harper actually met Kerrie.
Things get worse fast. Harper comes home to find Tane gone with Archie and only a note saying the baby is safe with him. He returns later, but Harper realises how risky their situation is without anything legal in place. Not long after, Kerrie suddenly shows up in town, and to no one’s surprise, she instantly clashes with Tane.
Home and Away: Leah Leans on Sonny a Little Too Much
Theo’s death has wrecked Leah, and while Justin tries to deal with his grief through counselling, Leah starts depending on Sonny for almost everything. She tells herself he understands her better, and at one point she even slips and calls him “Theo,” which leaves Justin shocked.
Justin eventually warns Sonny to back away, and Dana gets annoyed too since Leah keeps showing up at the Diner apartment. By the time the year ends, Sonny gently tells Leah she can’t rely on him anymore. But her emotional spiral continues, especially after Justin heads off to the music festival without inviting her.
Tane, Jo, and Eddie Get Stuck in a Messy Triangle
Jo and Tane finally decide to give their chemistry a chance, but Jo’s dad David digs into Tane’s past and isn’t happy. Tane then tells Jo everything about the baby Poppy situation, and even though she says she understands, David’s warning rattles him enough that he pushes Jo away. She walks off upset, until Tane later admits he only backed off because he didn’t feel good enough for her.
Just as they get back on track, Jo bumps into Eddie, her ex she once planned a future with, because he arrives in town as Remi’s new artist. Old emotions surface fast. Jo cancels a date with Tane to reconnect with Eddie, kisses her ex, and ends up torn between the safe choice and the exciting one. Tane decides he won’t be anyone’s backup, so Jo leans toward Eddie but her heart doesn’t look settled at all.
Remi Finds His First Artist and a Twist Follows
Remi is thrilled to sign Eddie Shepherd as the first official artist for Back on Track Records. He and Sonny work hard to impress Eddie, with Eden pretending to be one of their artists until they admit they lied because the studio equipment hasn’t even arrived yet. Somehow, Sonny’s charm still seals the deal.
But Eddie’s arrival causes ripples outside music too. When he and David recognise each other, we learn Eddie is Jo’s ex-boyfriend the one who actually planned to propose the night before her mother died. His return sets off emotional dominoes everywhere, especially once he and Jo start spending more time together again.
Home and Away: Eden Feels Left Behind
With Remi and Sonny powering ahead with their label, Eden begins feeling like she’s the odd one out. Lyrik was something she and Remi shared. So watching him build a whole new music chapter without her leaves her unsure about her own path. Cash encourages her to talk to Remi, but she refuses.
When Cash talks to Remi instead, Remi gently says Eden can’t be part of the label because it has to be something he builds himself. Eden feels hurt and admits she doesn’t want to be known only as someone’s wife, which unintentionally stings Cash. She then decides to apply for a volunteer policing program but Cash panics, saying it’s far too dangerous for her.
The Langham Family Finally Gets Closure in Home and Away
After months of Jo and Lacey being torn apart by grief, Councillor Wendall confesses to both Kristina and Theo’s deaths. The family later learns he’s been sentenced to life, something that lifts a huge weight from all of them.
David, Jo, and Lacey share a drink at Salt, where David says he hopes the family can finally breathe again. After everything they’ve survived this year, closure feels long overdue.
The Party Train Derails in a Huge Cliffhanger
Back on Track scores Eddie a last-minute spot at the Off the Rails festival, and Justin joins the team again. A whole group heads off together on a special party train from Yabbie Creek. Mackenzie, Levi, Abigail, Dana, Jo, Lacey, Sonny, Remi, joins and even newcomers Holden and Isaac.
But the fun doesn’t last. Eddie decides this is the perfect moment to propose to Jo, leaving her speechless and then disaster hits. A group of teenagers leave their bikes on the tracks as they flee a tunnel. And the train slams into them, tipping onto its side.
