Royal News is buzzing after the backlash that Prince William and Princess Kate experienced from the Windsor locals. It was after their move to Frogmore Cottage. To get away from the public eye after the hard years that they had gone through, the couple made the house their home, hoping for ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌privacy. Instead, the decision has triggered backlash, with residents claiming that public land has been quietly taken away. Keep scrolling to know more.

Windsor Residents Are Furious With Sudden Land Closures

A Windsor local has called Prince William and Princess Kate “selfish”. This comes after their move to Forest Lodge. Residents claim that the impact on the public is worse than many realise. The‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ couple moved to their forever home, a £16 million property located within Windsor Great ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌Park.

However, locals say that this move comes at a steep cost. In September, residents found that large sections of oak-filled open fields were no longer accessible. Anywhere‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ else, about 150 acres of land that used to be open for the public have been closed. The main reason for the decision was to put the safety of the family and their three children ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌first.

In‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ other places, dog walkers who were out before any official announcement observed that the fences had been put up in the usual walks that they do. Along with that, there were no signs for public entries put up, next to CCTV cameras, trenches that had been dug, new hedging, and a heavy police presence.

Moreover, the Forest Lodge area was encircled by a 2.3-mile temporary no-go zone for each person. That is, people who dive into the zone may be arrested according to the regulations of the Scottish Organised Crime and Police ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌Act.

Royal News: Locals Say Years Of Access Were Taken Away Overnight

Tina, who lives on the opposite side of Forest Lodge, says the closure has been upsetting. Elsewhere, the excksuin zone is presented as a small two-mile radius. She further explained that anyone can buy a parking pass. And can even walk through the public areas. And that is why the closure of the Cranbourne Gate car park has had a wide impact.

Tina‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ pointed out that properties like Windsor Great Park and Forest Lodge belong to the Crown Estate and not the Royal Family. Besides that, the money made from it is given to the ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌Treasury. And this means that the land should be managed in the national interest.

However, Tina argues that many people have lost access to the land they once relied on. Elsewhere, it is a painful part to see her place fenced off and policed. And Tina also hasn’t returned to the area since its closure. For more Royal News and updates, keep following Soap Opera Daily
