However, the dress has put Meghan Markle in trouble. After the trailer was out, there were speculations that the dress had not been returned to the designers. They claimed that she had kept the items that needed to be sent back after the shoot. Meanwhile, in 2024, Vanessa Grigoriadis opened up about the allegations in detail. The journalist repeated Tom Bower’s claims. He claimed that Meghan Markle kept a pair of designer shoes that she should have returned after the shoot.

The items kept were in accordance with contractual arrangements. Furthermore, they also denied that Meghan stole clothing or items in 2022.
