Becky Swain’s Past Actions Continue To Haunt Weatherfield
Becky previously stunned those around her by faking her own death to escape Spanish gangsters, a move that allowed her to vanish while others believed she was gone for good. That extreme act only marked the start of her downward spiral, as she later resurfaced with unfinished business and old grudges firmly intact. Jeremy Costello soon found himself at the centre of Becky’s growing fury. After helping her disappear, he became determined to send her back to Spain.
But Becky responded by threatening his daughter and orchestrating events that left him seriously injured and hospitalised, making it clear she would not go quietly. While Costello tried to recover, Becky shifted her attention to a more personal mission. Determined to win back Lisa Swain and their daughter Betsy, she began edging Carla Connor out of the picture, inserting herself into Carla’s home and relationship with calculated intent.
Carla Connor grew increasingly frustrated by Lisa’s refusal to see Becky for who she really was. Though Carla eventually moved out, she refused to let the truth slide and teamed up with police officer Kit Green in an attempt to prove Becky’s involvement in Costello’s attack.
Kit Green worked alongside Carla, but Becky consistently stayed one step ahead, covering her tracks and avoiding exposure. The pressure took its toll on Lisa, who struggled with the emotional strain and Carla’s growing mistrust. Unable to cope, Lisa ended the relationship, leaving Carla devastated and Becky closer to getting exactly what she wanted.
Becky Makes Her Chilling Move On Costello
With her relationship seemingly secured, Becky still had one loose end to deal with. Carla, heartbroken by the split, decided to leave Weatherfield behind and flew to Lanzarote to clear her head, unaware that Becky was turning her focus back to Jeremy Costello. In a spoiler video, Becky arrived at the hospital where Costello lay vulnerable and talked her way past a paramedic.
Once alone, she dropped the act and asked her former boss if he was pleased to see her. Costello’s fear said everything. Trapped in his hospital bed, he looked on in terror as Becky stood over him. She was fully aware that he was completely at her mercy.
