Carl has caused problems ever since he arrived on the cobbles back in April, and his past behaviour now comes back to haunt him. He crossed a major line by starting an affair with Abi while she was still married to his half-brother Kevin, setting off a chain of lies that only grew worse over time. Things didn’t stop at betrayal. Carl secretly used Kevin’s garage to run illegal jobs, stealing cars and faking MOTs to make easy money.
The situation became far more serious when it was revealed that Carl was driving the stolen car that hit Tyrone Dobbs, tying him directly to one of Weatherfield’s most troubling incidents. All of this hangs over Debbie as she prepares to marry Ronnie Bailey. She focuses on wedding plans, unaware that Carl’s actions are about to drag the family into turmoil just days before she walks down the aisle.
Can Carl Keep His Secret Before The Big Day?
The turning point comes all of a sudden. Kevin helps Jack review his geography project, which includes drone footage showing parts of Weatherfield from above. As the footage plays, Kevin spots Carl stealing a car. The realisation hits hard when he recognises the vehicle as the same one involved in Tyrone’s hit-and-run. At that point, there is no room for doubt.
Carl’s lies collapse in seconds. Kevin isn’t guessing anymore; he sees proof right in front of him, and it confirms that Carl has been hiding far more than he ever admitted. Earlier, Kevin had agreed to keep the peace for Debbie’s sake after Sally asked him not to cause trouble at the wedding. Carl even suggested a truce, acting like he wanted to move on, though Kevin clearly didn’t trust his intentions.
Abi has also felt uneasy about Carl for some time. She noticed a large amount of money missing from his account and suspected he was up to something again. Kevin’s discovery only adds weight to her fears. Kevin must decide whether to stay silent for his sister’s happiness or finally expose Carl.
