Alan Halsall has started the New Year by sharing a very personal moment from his life away from the cobbles. The Coronation Street star, who split from Tisha Merry last year, posted an intimate snap that hinted his new relationship has reached a more serious and confident stage.
Alan Halsall Shares A Steamy New Year Kiss
Alan welcomed 2026 with a passionate kiss shared with his girlfriend, Ellie Dolan. Ellie posted the photo on Instagram, showing the couple kissing as they celebrated the New Year, and captioned it simply: “2026 with you.” Alan later reshared the picture on his own page as they rang in the New Year with friends and loved ones.
The photo made it clear that the pair are very happy and comfortable together. The couple began dating in December 2024. By May last year, people close to Alan were already saying he was completely smitten with Ellie and enjoying the relationship.
Friends Say The Relationship Has Been Growing
At the time, a friend said Alan and Ellie were “getting on like a house on fire.” They shared that things were moving quickly and that the couple loved spending time together. The source also said they were often seen together around the local area and that their relationship quickly became a talking point. Despite that, Alan and Ellie kept things fairly private until now.
Ellie is from Salford, Greater Manchester, and works as a human resources co-ordinator at Delta Hotels by Marriott Worsley Park Country Club in Alan’s home town of Worsley. Alan, who loves golf, is a member at the club, where memberships can cost up to £1,181, and there is also a four-star hotel on site. Alan split from his Coronation Street co-star Tisha at the beginning of 2024 after five years together.
A source close to the pair revealed that Tisha moved out of Alan’s Manchester home in January that year. An insider later explained that although they cared deeply for each other and shared many interests, they slowly drifted apart. The pressure of trying to make the relationship work became too much, and they decided it was best to go their separate ways and focus on themselves.
