Jodie Ramsey hasn’t been in Coronation Street long, but things are already starting to fall apart. Next week, Shona Platt begins asking direct questions about Jodie’s past and why she suddenly turned up. As the pressure builds, Jodie struggles to cope, leading to an emotional breakdown that puts their new relationship under serious strain.

Shona Pushes For The Truth And Jodie Cracks

Jodie’s arrival last week immediately raised alarm bells. Her first appearance came during the crossover episode Corriedale, where viewers saw her tied up in the back of a van being driven by Emmerdale’s Graham Foster.

The disturbing scene made it clear that Jodie had been through something serious before arriving in Weatherfield. After later crossing paths with Shona by chance, Jodie lingered around the Platt family while they were in hospital.

Questions mounted about her intentions until Wednesday’s episode confirmed that she is Shona’s half-sister. Even then, Jodie avoided explaining why she had entered Shona’s life now. Next week, Shona stops holding back and demands answers.

Jodie finally opens up about her childhood and speaks about the abuse she suffered at the hands of their parents. Next, Jodie accuses Shona of walking away when she needed help most, and the confrontation leaves Jodie overwhelmed and visibly breaking down.

Jodie’s Actions Leave Shona Deeply Concerned

The tension carries into the following day when Jodie helps Lily work on a self-portrait. Rather than easing the situation, Jodie uses the moment to criticise Shona again, making it clear that her anger has not eased after their confrontation.

Later in the week, Shona attempts to fix things by inviting Jodie over for breakfast. The effort quickly unravels when Jodie sees Kit and panics, rushing out without explanation.

Her reaction leaves Shona unsettled and convinced that Jodie is hiding something important. Unable to ignore the warning signs, Shona approaches Kit directly. He explains that he met Jodie in the woods on the night of the crash and reveals that she had been held captive. The revelation shocks Shona, who realises that Jodie’s distress goes far beyond family resentment.

Jodie later attends a domestic abuse support group in Weatherfield, which shows how deeply the experience has affected her. Things escalate further when Bethany contacts Shona and David to say that Jodie is spiralling out of control and causing a scene at the house. The call leaves Shona worried that her search for answers may have pushed her sister too far. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more Coronation Street spoilers.
