Theo Silverton has always been dangerous behind closed doors, but Coronation Street is about to prove that even the worst villains make mistakes. As Billy Mayhew’s funeral draws closer, Theo tries to keep his mask firmly in place while he plays the grieving “supportive boyfriend” in front of everyone. The problem is, his guilt starts cracking through and one careless moment could finally expose him for what he really did.

Theo’s Guilt Spirals as Billy’s Funeral Gets Closer

Theo was already bad news long before Billy’s tragic death. He acted like the perfect boyfriend in public, but in private he bullied Todd Grimshaw, humiliated him, and controlled him through violent outbursts, emotional manipulation, and constant intimidation.

Todd stayed trapped in that toxic cycle for months, trying to leave, getting pulled back in, and watching Theo turn on the tears every time Todd found the courage to walk away.

Theo also worked hard to isolate Todd from anyone who could protect him, cutting off his safety nets one by one. But Billy saw through it. He noticed Todd changing since he started dating Theo, and he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was seriously wrong.

Billy didn’t just “suspect trouble”, he smelt a rat, and he stayed worried even when Theo kept playing the charming act. Everything came to a head at Debbie Webster’s wedding when Billy spotted Todd’s bruises and finally understood the true extent of the abuse.

Theo Made a Horrific Choice and It Led to Billy’s Death

In the explosive aftermath of the multi-car pileup, Theo had the chance to save Billy’s life. Instead, he made a decision that sealed Billy’s fate. Theo had always been jealous of Billy, especially because Billy was Todd’s ex, and in a split-second act of cruelty, he strapped an unconscious Billy back into the driver’s seat and left him to die in the burning wreckage of the minibus.

Billy’s death shattered Todd completely. Grief-stricken and at rock bottom, Todd felt like he had no choice but to go back to Theo, and it looked like Theo had finally won.

But even Theo couldn’t escape what he’d done, because this time he didn’t just hurt Todd, he killed someone. Upcoming episodes will show Theo getting tormented by constant guilt until he reaches breaking point. And the twist is that his confession comes out in the most unlikely way. With Billy’s funeral approaching, Theo seeks out the Bishop, desperate for absolution. And even though the Bishop doesn’t know what Theo did, he tells Theo he isn’t to blame.

Theo doesn’t get struck down by a thunderbolt outside the Rovers Return, but what happens next feels almost as satisfying. When George briefly leaves Theo to mind the undertakers, Theo seizes the moment and approaches Billy’s coffin. Standing alone beside the coffin, Theo tearfully confesses how sorry he is for leaving Billy to die. But then a door slams. And in that instant, Theo gets the chilling feeling that someone is watching him, and it wasn’t just the Almighty. Now the big question is, who was inside the undertakers’?
