January 29: Bernie Drowns Her Grief In Drink As Mal Makes A Move
Bernie Winter-Alahan also struggles under the weight of grief and decides she needs an escape. She heads to the Chariot Square Hotel and drinks alone, hoping alcohol will numb the pain.
Newcomer Mal soon joins her at the bar, introduces himself, and offers to buy her a drink. Attraction seems obvious on Mal’s side, and Bernie may find the attention hard to resist in her fragile state.
An insider revealed that Mal tells Bernie his wife cheated on him, and that confession leads Bernie to open up about Paul and Billy.
