Jake’s Journey Back To Walford
Jake Moon’s surprise comeback to Albert Square has stirred up people’s curiosity about the character’s secret history. The star had quit the drama in 2006. And the audience thought that he was dead. But he appeared briefly in September 2024. This revealed that Jake had been alive.
Joel Beckett, who portrays Jake, gave an insight into his thoughts on the characters disappearance over two decades. “It’s nice coming back because it has allowed me to invent a backstory for what he has been up to over these 20 years, ” Beckett revealed.
He even said that Jake could have been to any places in the world like Greece, Thailand and Spain for sightseeing. If Jake had been an antique fashion item and a person buying locally, these would have been his choices. Also, the actor joked about the idea of Jake getting there by a nice E, type car. He’d portray a bloke who’s done nicely and seen a lot. Besides, he was impressed with the barge his character now has.
On the other hand, his comeback leads to linking with old soap opera storylines. He had ended his relationship with Chrissie Watts. It’s because she plotted revenge on Zoe Slater. Furthermore, he had refused to help Zoe prove her innocence in Anthonys death.
Jake Had Killed Danny Earlier In EastEnders
When Jake returned to Walford, he reunited with Alfie and Phil Mitchell. Also, a buried family secret resurfaced. The storyline revealed that Jake had accidentally killed his brother, Danny. Danny was tasked with assassinating Grant.
Then, while having a conversation with Phil, he was doubtful whether he had made the right choices regarding his brother’s death. After this, Phil encouraged him to make amends for the sake of his family.
He realised he needed to support his loved ones. And so agreed to track down Chrissie. Furthermore, Jake sent her a text, hoping to lure her back. And Chrisie responded with a yes.
