The situation begins after Kerrie’s manipulative behaviour finally pushes Harper to cut ties. Harper asks her mother to leave town for good after realising she hasn’t changed and continues trying to turn people against Tane, even suggesting he is a controlling father around baby Archie.
Tane had already warned that Kerrie posed a danger to the child. Harper initially believed he was overprotective, but she soon recognised the pattern from her childhood.
Jessica Redmayne explains Harper hesitates before saying goodbye because she still hopes her mum can change, yet she is devastated when Kerrie betrays her trust again, she only wants to protect her son. Everyone believes the drama ends there.
But Kerrie secretly returns, breaks into Tane’s house and plants drugs in Archie’s cot, setting up the moment that will force Cash into an impossible position.

The next morning, Tane wakes beside Jo after a night out when loud knocking rattles the house. Sergeant Langham arrives with a warrant after an anonymous tip about drugs on the property. Tane and Jo stare in confusion, and Jo becomes furious that her father would even consider the accusation.

Then David steps outside holding a bag of white powder. The discovery shocks everyone, especially Cash. Despite knowing Tane, despite believing him, the evidence leaves no room for hesitation. Tane can’t understand how this is happening, Jo stands stunned, and Cash struggles to remain professional even as the situation tears at him.
