Steve McDonald’s Proposal Is Ruined By Jim’s Death
Cassie Plummer plans to propose to Steve McDonald and asks Tim Metcalfe to help her get him to Victoria Gardens.
Steve has no idea what is coming and follows along, thinking it is just another normal day. But just as Cassie prepares to ask the big question, Steve gets a phone call telling him that his dad, Jim McDonald, has died.

The proposal stops instantly. Later, everyone gathers in the Rovers to raise a glass to Jim. Tracy McDonald notices that Cassie is dressed up and then sees her slip something into Mary’s pocket.
Tracy quickly realises Cassie was about to propose. While Steve talks to Tim and later discusses the funeral with Ben and Cassie, he has no idea how close he came to getting engaged.
Coronation Street: Carla Connor Is Left With A Shock Baby Surprise
Carla Connor opens her door and finds a baby in a car seat left outside her flat. She is stunned. Lisa Swain runs after the woman who leaves the baby and finds out the child is Connie, the daughter of Rob Donovan and prison officer Mandy. Connie’s grandmother is in hospital and needs someone to care for the baby.

Carla refuses straight away, even when Lisa reminds her that she is Connie’s aunt and that the only other option may be foster care. But Connie’s crying soon fills the flat and no one gets any sleep. As Carla later sits with Connie on her knee watching TV, Lisa starts to think Carla may be slowly changing her mind.
Baby Harper’s Surgery Brings Fear For The Platts
David and Shona Platt wait anxiously at the hospital while doctors prepare baby Harper for surgery to remove a mass. On Jodie’s suggestion, the rest of the Platt family comes to show support.
Then the family hears that Harper has suffered a minor bleed during the operation, and panic spreads quickly. David feels overwhelmed and tells everyone to leave.

Outside, a new mum mistakes Jodie for Harper’s mother and thinks David is her husband. Jodie does not correct her. Later, the same woman approaches Jodie again and asks about “her daughter.” As Jodie talks about the operation, she suddenly sees Shona standing behind her and freezes.
Coronation Street: Lily Platt Finds Proof Of Jodie’s Meddling
Back at No. 8, Lily Platt finds a hidden box of trinkets under the stairs that belongs to Jodie. Inside, she discovers a cut-out photo of Bernie and Brian’s stolen book from The Kabin. Lily realises Jodie has been interfering and wants answers.

Lily confronts Jodie with the photo and demands to know why she targeted her neighbours. Jodie tries to explain herself, but with Shona already suspicious, the truth may not stay hidden for long.
Debbie Webster Fears Dying In Prison
In prison, Debbie Webster helps Lou Michaelis make bracelets for her children. When another inmate, Paula, tries to take one, Lou refuses and ends up badly beaten. Debbie later finds Lou bruised and hurt, and when Sally, Brody and the girls visit, they are shocked by what they see.

At the same time, Carl charms Debbie during a visit and persuades her to give him more money. Sally overhears and bluntly warns Debbie that Carl is playing her. Debbie defends him, but she later admits to Lou that her dementia is getting worse and she cannot stand the thought of spending what could be her final months locked up. Lou calls Sally and tells her how low Debbie is feeling.
Coronation Street: George Shuttleworth Faces Police Trouble
George Shuttleworth discovers a series of fake one-star reviews about the undertakers and believes Annie is behind them. Glenda tries to fix the damage by posting positive five-star reviews, while Christina reports Annie to the police for defamation.

The situation gets worse when police question George about Annie’s fraud claims. He calls a meeting with Christina and Glenda to deal with the crisis, but a phone call from his solicitor throws everything into more confusion.
Todd Grimshaw’s Money Problems Grow
Theo Silverton returns early from visiting his mum in Doncaster, and Todd Grimshaw asks him for money to buy a birthday present. Theo gives him £200 but clearly says it must also cover dinner, leaving Todd under pressure.

Soon after, Todd gets a message saying his account is in arrears and his services will be cut off unless he pays. With bills piling up, Todd starts to worry about what he will do next.
