Eric Appeared In Emmerdale Farm!
Eric Allan played the character of Frank Blakey in the early days of the show. He was a part of the Emmerdale Farm cast before it was reinvented as Emmerdale. He joined the soap in 1972 and left the soap in January 1974. Frank Blakey was the village blacksmith. He married Janie Harker.
His storylines include his move to Essex for a teaching job, his bond with Janie and his return to the Dales. Meanwhile, Frank was once mentioned in 1978 when Joe told Ian how Frank once taught him to use a blowtorch. Elsewhere, the former soap star died at the age of eighty-five.
He was born in 1940 and grew up in Yorkshire and Wolverhampton. He has a wife named Sussan and two children. Meanwhile, his acting career began in Leicester and Nottingham’s theatres. The legend spent many years with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Eric Allan Passes Away!
Furthermore, Eric Allan also worked with director Mike Leigh and played the lead in his controversial first feature film, Bleak Moments. Eric played farmer Bert Fry on BBC Radio 4’s The Archers for twenty-five years. He played the character from 1997 to 2021. Bert struggled to settle into retirement.
The soap legend also made an appearance in Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. Eric Alln also featured in The Bill, Heartbeat and Where The Heart Is. Meanwhile, for a brief period in 70s the late actor made an appearance in Coronation Street, where he played the role of Les Fox, who went on a date with Bet Lynch.
