CBS’ groundbreaking daytime soap Beyond the Gates received major recognition during the recently concluded BronzeLens 2026 Superstars Weekend in Atlanta, Georgia. The March 6-8 celebration honored several stars and creatives from the series for their work both on screen and behind the scenes. The recognition highlighted the show’s historic impact as it continues to make its mark on daytime television.
BronzeLens Weekend Spotlighted Beyond The Gates
During BronzeLens 2026 Superstars Weekend, organizers gave special attention to Beyond the Gates because of its cultural and industry significance. Produced by CBS Studios, the series stands out as the first daytime soap opera with a majority-Black ensemble cast.

BronzeLens Executive Producer Kathleen Bertrand explained that the festival wanted to recognize the show for its historic influence. She shared that the team chose to highlight Beyond the Gates because of the imprint it has already made within the community and beyond.
The weekend’s main event was the 17th annual BronzeLens Women SuperStars Honors ceremony, which took place on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Several members of the Beyond the Gates family were among those honored during the celebration.
Tamara Tunie, Jasmine Burke, And Jeresa Featherstone-Winfield Honored
Veteran actress Tamara Tunie received the 2026 Legendary SuperStar honor. Tunie recently made history starring in Beyond the Gates as Anita Dupree, the strong and respected matriarch of the Dupree family. The show itself broke new ground by centering on the life of an affluent Black family.
Actress Jasmine Burke was recognized as the 2026 Visionary SuperStar. On the show, Burke plays June, a homeless woman who is fighting to rebuild her life. Her emotional portrayal earned praise, while her real-life efforts through the Jasmine Burke Foundation continue to support communities with mental health resources.

Behind the camera, three-time Emmy Award-winning costume designer Jeresa Featherstone-Winfield received the 2026 Behind the Lens SuperStar honor. Her costume work on Beyond the Gates has impressed viewers, and she described the project as an opportunity of a lifetime that allowed her to create a visual world from scratch and dress characters in ways that celebrate the richness and beauty of the Black experience.
The celebrations continued on Sunday, March 8, during the event’s Sunday Brunch with the Brothers. Entertainment veteran Clifton Davis received the Bronze Excellence in Iconic Performance and Writing award during the gathering. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more Beyond the Gates spoilers.
