Holden has been fixated on Lacey ever since they met during the train derailment months earlier. The two bonded over their shared grief. However, Holden began showing up wherever Lacey went. The stalker pushed himself into her world and even sneaked into the Beach House to prepare dinner.
On the other hand, Lacey tried hiding the situation from her father, David. But things turned worse when Holden signed up for surf lessons at Manta Ray Board. The stalker just wanted to be near her. Lacey even turned him down gently. Later, Mali had to step in.
When a fight broke out between the two men, David realised that things had become quite serious. That’s when he encouraged his daughter to take out an AVO. David thought that this would push Holden back. However, the AVO hardened his fixation. Later, he broke into the Beach House again. And this forced Lacey to call the police. Soon, he was arrested, but not for long. The stalker was granted bail.
Later, Lacey went to collect a lost surfboard at the northern end of the beach. And Holden confronted her again. He didn’t stop her and tracked her to the Bay Motel. He forced himself inside her room using a food delivery as a way in. And when she was trying to escape, he turned violent. He pushed her onto the bed. That’s when Lacey grabbed the bedside lamp and struck him.

David eventually reached the room. However, he found his daughter in complete shock. Elsewhere, Holden was lying motionless on the floor. Soon, the forensic arrived and confirmed what David already knew: Holden was gone.
Later, David reminded her that he would need to follow the procedure and arrest her. Since David couldn’t be the one to question her, Cash sat in on the interview. Then Lacey told him that she never wanted to kill Holden. She only wanted to protect herself.
Soon, Cash reassured her that Holden wasnt supposed to be near her at all. He said that the system failed to keep her safe. Later, David vented his frustration.
