Alya Faces A Serious Threat After Secret Meeting
Alya Nazir currently works at Barlow Legal Services alongside Adam Barlow after returning to Weatherfield earlier this year. Before that, she spent six months in Dublin working at Fabian’s law firm, where Rich Pemberton served as her boss. That chapter of her life seemed firmly behind her until Rich suddenly reached out and asked to meet privately.
In the latest episode of the ITV soap, Alya agreed to meet Rich in secret, hoping to find out why he wanted to see her. The conversation quickly turned tense as Rich accused Alya of leaking confidential information while she worked at Fabian’s. He claimed that a report existed which suggested she had been involved in the leak and insisted the evidence made her look guilty.
Rich then issued a chilling ultimatum. He warned Alya that he would report her to the Solicitors Regulation Authority unless she stopped Adam from poaching one of Fabian’s clients. According to Rich, the report could destroy Alya’s reputation and end her career in law.
Jenna Mackie’s Case Puts Alya In A Difficult Position in Coronation Street
Rich went on to explain exactly which client Fabian’s wanted to protect. He told Alya that a woman called Jenna Mackie had invested heavily and lost £1.2 million because of what he described as “that fiasco.” Jenna remained a highly valuable client, and Rich warned that he would report Alya if Adam succeeded in bringing her over to Barlow Legal Services.
Later in the episode, Alya found herself in an extremely uncomfortable situation when Adam unexpectedly mentioned Jenna. Adam proudly presented Alya with a beautiful antique watch and explained that it was a gift to recognise her efforts at work.
Adam then revealed that he had successfully poached Jenna Mackie away from Fabian’s law firm. He credited Alya’s work for helping secure the client and seemed thrilled about the opportunity it could bring to the firm. Alya immediately became uneasy and questioned whether taking Jenna as a client was really a good idea. The warning Rich delivered earlier clearly weighed heavily on her mind as she attempted to raise concerns.
Alya’s Secret Could Destroy Her Career
Adam dismissed Alya’s concerns and insisted that nothing improper had happened. He explained that Jenna chose to leave Fabian’s on her own because they failed to offer favourable terms. Adam said he offered a better deal and added, “Come on, a client like that could keep us going for years.”
The revelation left Alya deeply worried because Adam had unknowingly done exactly what Rich warned against. Rich made it clear that he would report Alya if Jenna left Fabian’s for Adam’s firm, and that threat now hangs over her future.
