ITV has sparked outrage among soap fans by pulling two of its beloved shows, Emmerdale and Coronation Street, from their usual slots to make way for UEFA Euros 2024 coverage. Emmerdale & Coronation Street Viewers Outraged
ITV has announced another schedule shake-up. This time, two shows, Emmerdale and Coronation Street, have been removed from the screen to make room for the UEFA Euros 2024 coverage. Previously, Tipping Point and The Chase were already off the air for Tuesday afternoon. Now, the channel has also dropped soaps from their Monday evening slots.
However, Emmerdale fans can catch two back-to-back episodes on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Right after that, Coronation Street will air at 8 p.m. This change comes after Corrie was already bumped for football last Friday. This makes soap fans furious and frustrated.
According to fans, ITV must upload the episode to ITVX or broadcast it on another channel. One fan on social media suggested moving Coronation Street and Emmerdale to ITV2, saying it wasn’t a big deal. Another argued that it was time to stop this disruption.
They highlighted that there are enough channels to accommodate both football and soaps. A third fan questioned, “Why don’t you put the episodes on @ITVX early” questioned a third fan.” Additionally, a fourth complained about why football doesn’t have its own dedicated channel.
