Euros Chaos Causes Last-Minute Episode Yank
Viewers already know that ITV soaps are facing schedule changes due to Euro 2024 TV coverage. Another Dales has been rescheduled due to ITV’s extended coverage of the Euros. Initially, tonight’s episode was moved to the later time slot of 8:30 pm, but the Spain and Germany quarter-final match went into extra time.
This caused more delays. The broadcaster hasn’t yet announced the new air time. Also, the episode was pulled from ITVX just hours after it appeared this morning. While Emmerdale faced a surprise cancellation, Coronation Street still aired tonight at 9 pm.
Fans of the show have expressed their frustration over the schedule changes on X ( Twitter). One viewer exclaimed, “F*** off did I wait all night for Emmerdale to be cancelled????” Another voiced their annoyance about football interfering with the soaps. A third viewer questioned why there couldn’t be a dedicated sports channel to avoid disrupting the soaps.
Additionally, another fan shared, “My mam is absolutely raging, she’s got me looking up what’s going on. First EastEnders now Emmerdale!” Next week, episodes will move to 7 pm on ITV, including July 12 (Friday). There will be no episode on July 10 Wednesday), as the second Euros semi-final takes over.
The show will be back at its usual 7:30 pm slot on July 8 (Monday), July 9 (Tuesday), and July 11 (Thursday). For more updates on Emmerdale schedule changes, stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily! Also, how do you feel about these abrupt schedule shake-ups? Let us know in the comments section below!
