Bride-to-be Christel Khalil, who plays Lily on The Young and the Restless, is gearing up for her big day! The actress is marrying Sam Restagno with a lively coed bachelorette bash in Mexico. Their love story took off in 2016 at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, CA.
Christel shared in 2020, “Our first date was two weeks later, and we had such a blast.” Interestingly, six months into dating, she knew he was the one! Now, they’re about to set their relationship in stone. Read on to know the deets of their bachelorette bash!
Christel Parties in Mexico Before Her Big Day
The Young and the Restless posted a bunch of adorable pictures from the bachelorette party on Instagram. She captioned them, “The definition of success. The kind of Bach party dreams are made of.” And guess what? The bash in Mexico saw Bryton James in attendance, who is Khalil’s on-screen brother on Y&R.
Mind you, James is also the godfather to her fourteen-year-old son from a previous marriage, Michael Caden. In 2020, the Devon actor praised Khalil, calling her a warm and loving person. He added, “We’ve shared so many important moments together. She married young, had her son, and I was there.” Additionally, Bryton reminisced about how he lived a similar life, in which he got married young and went through separation.
Anyway, he’s happy they were together on and off set every day, running lines and hanging out. So, it was natural for them to form a strong bond. Reciprocating the love, Khalil gave a shout-out to James when the star completed twenty years on Y&R. She wrote, “Happy anniversary, B! It has been an honor working with my best friend and brother these past 20 years.”
Earlier in 2022, Christel broke the news of her engagement to Restagno on Instagram. She wrote, “A couple of months ago, I said yes to the love of my life.” Furthermore, she thanked her beau for the proposal, saying she couldn’t be happier to tether herself to him forever. Cut to 2023, Khalil revealed they were expecting their first child. They kept their son’s birth date under wraps.
