EastEnders fans will be left in awe after watching the star Tamzin Outhwaite in her latest gig. The popular actress has now confirmed the details of her exciting new role where she’ll star in a new adaptation of Mike Leigh’s Abigail’s Party. This new venture will be directed by Nadia Fall. Tamzin Outhwaite, popularly known for her role as Mel Owen on EastEnders, has landed a new endeavour. She took to Instagram and shared a poster of the theatre production. ‘Well This is exciting!!,’ she captioned the post. In her new series, Outhwaite will share the screen alongside Inside No.9 star Kevin Bishop and Sex Education’s Ashna Rabheru.
A description of the show reads, “Beverly is hosting, the alcohol is flowing, Demis Roussos is on the record player, and the cheese and pineapple cocktail sticks are ready to go. Queen of the castle in her suburban semi, Beverly and husband Laurence welcome new neighbours Angela and Tony round for drinks.”
The synopsis also highlights, “Sue from next door is invited, too, but the real party is happening back at her place, as Sue’s teenage daughter Abigail can’t seem to keep the racket down. Awkward small talk quickly descends into inappropriate flirtation and marital disputes: a soiree from hell, but it’d be rude to leave.”

It seems like Tamzin is all set to play Beverly, the role of the hostess of the soiree, with her on-screen husband, Laurence, played by Bishop. As for Sex Education actress Ashna, she will play the role of Angela along with Omar Malik as Tony and Pandora Colin will take over the role of Sue.
This whole play is set in Essex in 1977, and fans will see Abigail’s Party revolving around an uncomfortable dinner party, and it will talk about several themes like materialism, classism, and intense sexual tension amongst adults.
As per reports, the latest play will start running at the Stratford East in London from Sept 6 to Oct 5. The tickets are priced between £6 and £39.50 and are now available to book.
