Lauren’s Return Throws Roy’s Plans Into Chaos
Earlier this year, Roy Cropper was wrongly thrown into prison for the murder of Lauren Bolton. Later, we found out that the real culprit was solicitor Joel Deering. He attacked Lauren and framed Nathan Curtis. Thankfully, this cleared Roy’s name and got him released.
After getting out of prison, the cafe owner was struggling to go back to his everyday life. Before he could adjust, Lauren’s arrival shocked him. An alive Lauren revealed that for months, Joel gave Lauren money for essentials like food and electricity, but in return, he demanded sex.
Now, the teen is not only dealing with her trauma but also feels immense guilt, knowing Roy suffered while she was hiding away. She is desperate to apologise to him. The cafe owner is thrilled to think Lauren is alive, but Nina is furious she took so long to clear his name.
Fitton explained that it isn’t until Lauren hears about Roy being in the hospital that she realises the situation has impacted him both mentally and physically. This prompts her to decide she must return and set things right, regardless of the consequences.
The actress mentioned that Roy was significant to Lauren, and she fears disappointing people. She knows she will face backlash because everyone on the street loves Roy. But, her survival mode due to her upbringing powers her to confront these challenges.
Next week, Nina picks Roy up from the hospital and notices his discomfort. She suggests he visit his ex-partner Cathy in Scarborough for a break. But just as Roy is about to leave, Lauren shows up to apologise.
