They have already announced the return of David Wicks and Chrissie Watts, which has left the fans going wild with theories. David Wicks & Pat Might Reunite For Soap’s 40th Anniversary
The BBC One Soap’s iconic character Pat Butcher, portrayed by Pam St. Clement, could be set for a sensational return to BBC soap for its landmark 40th anniversary. Viewers saw Pat gracing Walford for the first time in 1986 and quickly becoming a fan favourite.
Pam’s character was a constant on the show and was embroiled in numerous major storylines. However, she was killed off in emotional scenes in 2012 before making a surprise return as a ghost for Peggy Mitchell in 2015.

Now, over a decade since her on-screen demise, speculation mill has been running amongst fans and they’re reminiscing over the fan favourite character. The speculation has it that Pat might actually be making a comeback for the soap’s milestone soon. One Reddit user claimed that she can return while her son David Wicks is in Walford too. He suggested that Pat could reappear in the form of a hallucination.
The fan wrote, ‘Since David is returning, maybe he may have developed psychosis or schizophrenia, Joe suffered a traumatic experience (his Sister died) which triggered schizophrenia, Bianca has been diagnosed with depression, and maybe David suffered depression (he has talked about his difficult upbringing) too which could’ve triggered psychosis or schizophrenia.” He also continued his speculation and said that Cindy came back from the dead so Pat’s return is also believable.
This definitely sounds like an intriguing storyline, and we would love to see the mother-son duo reunite in Walford. With Michael French set to return later this year, his character’s storyline has been kept strictly under wraps.
