Duke Of Sussex Opens Up About His Court Battle Against Publications
Harry recently appeared in an interview for ITV’s documentary ‘Tabloids on Trial,’ which will premiere on Thursday, July 25. A preview has been released a day before the airing, in which the Duke discusses his reasons for pursuing lawsuits against publications.
Royal fans know that back in December, a High Court judge ruled that Mirror Group Newspaper (MGN) had unlawfully gathered information for stories published about Prince Harry.
While speaking about his four-year legal battle for the first time, the father of two said he felt “vindicated” by the ruling, calling it a “monumental victory”. When asked if fighting against tabloids destroyed his relationship with his family, Harry said, “Yeah, that’s certainly a central piece to it. But, you know, that’s a hard question to answer because anything I say about my family results in a torrent of abuse from the press.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back as senior royals in 2020 after publicly revealing their struggles under the media spotlight. The Prince, who now resides in California, also said he believed there was evidence his mother, Princess Diana, was hacked. He also claimed that she ‘was probably one of the first’ victims, although this has never been proven in court.

Diana’s son further reflected on how the press enjoyed painting the late princess as paranoid, but she wasn’t. These comments come in after unseen letters from Diana to her family’s housekeeper have emerged. According to reports, these letters will be sold for thousands of pounds in an auction scheduled for later this month.
One of the letters which was written on Buckingham Palace note paper discusses the preparations for Diana’s wedding to Charles. For more such updates on the royal family, keep following Soap Opera Daily! Prince Harry’s ITV interview will premiere tonight at 9pm GMT, so don’t forget to tune in!
