Sharon has been one of the most pivotal and loved characters on The Young and The Restless. Over the years, she has been through many relationships and upheavals in them. The most recent one being her marriage to Rey Rosales. Sharon was happily married to the GC cop and was looking forward to a wonderful future with him.
Unfortunately, happily ever afters are not what soap operas thrive on. Thus, her life was thrown for a toss when Rey tragically passed due to a car accident caused by his heart attack. She mourned Rey’s loss for a really long while. However, it seems that Sharon is heading towards a new storyline soon enough.
Not only that, it appears that Y&R is perhaps ready to bury her past as Sharon Rosales – Rey’s wife. We say so because Sharon seems to have gone back to using Newman as her surname. We wonder if this is because the soap is about to catapult her into Nick Newman’s orbit, or is it because they are writing off the Rosales family from the soap? There clearly are none of them left anymore!
Many fans have taken notice of this name change. They argue that Sharon has been Sharon Newman for most of her on-screen life. She was married to three of them! Thus, it makes sense that she went back to that name. Somewhat the same way Jill keeps going back to Abbott.

Yet, we have to consider the possibility that there could be more to the name. Especially with Sharon about to return to the front and center of a huge storyline. The Young and The Restless spoilers reveal that due to her messed up bipolar medication she has started to have hallucinations.
In fact, in one of the recent episodes, she even shared an imaginary kiss with her former husband – Nick Newman. Could the soap be heading in the direction of a rekindled Shick romance?
