It is rightly said, All that glitter is not gold and this idiom perfectly fits the royal institution. When Kate Middleton became a part of William’s family, her life completely changed, and she had to attend to several new responsibilities as a working royal.
However, the courageous princess didn’t accept the new burden, as per information shared by her close ones. According to Robert Jobson, author of a new Princess of Wales biography, Kate laid down vital stipulations before embarking on her royal adventure.
In his book, ‘Catherine: The Princess Of Wales,’ Jobson wrote, “Before joining ‘the Firm’, she wisely established some fundamental rules. She wouldn’t be pigeon-holed into carrying out particular duties and insisted on eventually having her full quota of maternity leave, away from the glare of the media and public.”

Clarifying that the Princess didn’t intend to leave her responsibilities but wanted to offer her time only to charities close to her interest.
Furthermore, Prince William had presented these ‘terms’ to Queen Elizabeth and Charles while Kate was pregnant with Charlotte. The royal father-of-three explained to his elders that Kate wanted more space to grow into her role and needed more time to adapt to royal life.
Ever since then, the Princess of Wales has stepped up to her duties both as a senior royal and in her job as a full-time loving mom while fighting cancer. In addition to this, Kate Middleton has also played peacemaker between her husband and Charles over time, which improved their relationship.
