Cindy Beale’s Former BFF To Arrive In Walford, Fans Are Excited!
EastEnders has pulled out all the stops to celebrate its 40th milestone. Viewers recently saw Laurie Brett’s Jane make an explosive return. Michael French’s Davis and Tracy-Ann Oberman’s Chrissie will also soon arrive on our screens. With so many exciting and familiar faces making a comeback, one of Cindy’s best friends might get added to the list, too.
At the beginning of this month, Cindy Beale dropped a big hint around Gita during a family lunch. Regular viewers know that Cindy and Ian’s relationship has been under a lot of stress ever since Jane Beale arrived in Walford, she has not been feeling like a priority.

This has led to Cindy finding happiness elsewhere with her former stepson Junior Knight. We have seen Ian’s wife go to her old ways of hiding and lying to Ian, and she has been using Gita as an excuse.
Furthermore, we recently saw Cindy telling Ian that she was meeting Gita for a drink when she was stepping to her secret rendezvous with Junior. OG EastEnders fans know that Cindy and Gita were friends during Shobu Kapoor’s five-year stint on the soap.
During her time on the show, Gita was involved in several interesting storylines, including catching her husband having an affair with her sister. She even left Walford just to get revenge from her husband and only told Cindy about her whereabouts.
Even though Sanjay and Gita did reunite finally, she again left after a fight with his mother. This led to Gita skipping town and Sanjay being accused of killing his wife; he was proved innocent later.

The Kapoor family finally left Walford in 1999 and nobody knows about them ever since. But, now it seems that Gita and Cindy might have stayed in touch and despite moving off the square, she can’t be too far if Cindy is using her as an alibi.
This has led to fans getting excited over Gita’s potential return to Walford. Soap fans took to X and expressed their excitement. One of them wrote, “A Gita mention in the year 2024, I will weep.”
While another added, “There’s been a mention of Gita Kapoor on EastEnders!” It seems like viewers really want Shobu Kapoor’s Gita to make a bombshell comeback and create more drama!
