Paul Lane’s Son Lands Major Role In Horror Film
Paula Lane is thrilled about her son Arthur’s role in the horror film Starve Acre. In the movie, Arthur stars alongside Matt Smith and Morfydd Clark, playing the son of Smith’s character, Richard. The actress told OK! Magazine that they’re all over the moon about Arthur’s role.
She shared that her husband, Tom Shaw, has been an actor since he was 17, and acting has always been a significant part of their life together. About two years ago, when they had their children, they learned about an open casting call for a Yorkshire boy aged between five and seven.
The soap star added, “So I just said, ‘Come on, let’s put him up for it.’ He has it in his blood; he’s a brilliant performer. His delivery is just fantastic.” So, after multiple auditions and recalls, their son ultimately secured the role. Lane expressed that they were initially in shock and couldn’t believe it.
However, once the surprise wore off, parental concern set in. They began questioning whether they really wanted their son to take on such a big role. She highlighted that it was a significant leap for any child to be placed on a feature film set with such well-known actors.
Additionally, the Dales actor and Tom did not pressure Arthur at all. Paula asserted that they would see how things unfold. She explained that they try not to make decisions for him. She concluded, “I want him to really decide if acting is what he wants to do.”
