EastEnders has been bringing back several iconic characters over the past 18 months, and it seems like there are more to come as the BBC soap celebrates its 40th anniversary. The show has announced the return of Tracy Ann Oberman and Michael French to take over their roles in the coming months.
However, another soap star, Matt Di Angelo, who portrays the role of Dean Wicks on the longest-running series, has dropped hints about a big return. Who will it be? Read on to find out!

In the last few weeks, viewers of the BBC programme have been treated to the return of Jane Beale, and soon David Wicks, along with Chrissie Watts, will return to Walford. However, the actor- who plays Dean Wicks recently talked to The Mirror and said viewers are in store for some ‘big surprises.’ He said, ‘I know quite a lot, and I can’t tell you who exactly – but when I found out, I was very surprised that they would come back.’
In addition to this, two more EastEnders stars, Emma Barton and Jamie Borthwick – who play Honey Mitchell and Jay Brown on the show – talked about what fans can expect from the forthcoming 40th anniversary.
Barton said, “We just know Chris is going to have something very exciting planned as he always does. It is exciting. We’re all really proud we’re there and going to be a part of it.” This comes after the bosses of the show hinted at the potential return of some major characters.

Ever since then, fans are going crazy over the possible returns and discussing it on Reddit. One of them said, ‘I bet it’s Shirley, so many people think she’s the one blackmailing Linda.’ Along with this, there were several others who thought Danny Dyer might make a comeback as Mick Carter and save Linda from the trouble that she has been dealing with.
Regular viewers know that Linda killed Keanu with The Six’s help and blamed Dean for the murder. However, this storyline is getting heated up again and it seems like several characters will return to play their part in the story.
