Royal Rift Deepens- No Forgiveness, No Communication
Prince Harry thought reaching out to King Charles would fix their relationship and bring forgiveness. But it hasn’t gone as planned. Royal expert Tom Quinn says King Charles hasn’t responded at all- he has ignored Harry’s calls, and the gap between them is getting wider.
Ever since the Sussexes stepped back from royal duties, Harry and Meghan have been vocal about their issues with the royal family. Their harsh criticisms have strained so much that now it looks like Harry’s efforts to mend things are only making matters worse.
Quinn told the Mirror that, despite all his criticisms, Harry always believed his father would forgive him. He added, “He thought Charles would make amends for the hurt that- in Harry’s view – justified the criticisms.” British Monarch is ‘horrified’ that Meghan might write another tell-all with Harry’s help.
He is now expecting Harry to apologise for all the trouble caused. In contrast, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex think the Royal Family should apologise first for unfair treatment. The royal expert said, “Despite Harry’s attacks on the royal family, his father has avoided responding by attacking his son publicly, but privately, King Charles is furious.”
According to him, Charles has even begun avoiding Harry’s calls. Earlier in the year, when Harry returned to London to visit his father, who was battling cancer, he had hoped for a reconciliation. In an interview with Good Morning America, Harry expressed the belief that illness often brings families closer together.
Nevertheless, despite being in London in May, the Duke of Sussex was not given the chance to meet with his father. Will Charles ever forgive his younger son? Well, for now, it doesn’t look that way.
