BBC soap star Nina Wadia wants to return to Walford. The actor who became a household name after her role as Zainab Masood on EastEnders has said that she wants to petition the BBC to bring her iconic character back.
Long-time viewers know that Wadia’s character was a regular face in Square from 2007 to 2013. During her stint on the soap, she was involved in some of the biggest storylines, including her abusive relationship with Yusef Khan.
However, the famous actress left the show six years after her debut because she wanted to pursue another career path. Her fans saw her in the first singing role in Now! That’s What I Call A Musical after her departure from the BBC series.
However, now, after spending more than a decade away from Walford, the Zainab actress will return to the soap in a heartbeat. While speaking to The Sun, Wadia said that she would love to return on the show’s 40th anniversary.
She said, “I loved that show. I loved my time on it. I know they’ve got a big anniversary coming up, and I’m waiting for the call.” Regular viewers know that Jane Beale also made an explosive comeback to the show and told everyone that she is dating Zainab’s ex, Masood. So, if Jane is in Walford, it is just a matter of time before Masood shows up, which might set the stage for Zainab’s return, too.

Nina also spoke about how she’d love to reunite with Masood on the soap opera. She also appreciated the Masood actor Nitin and mentioned that she knows him too well. The actress also reflected on her time away from EastEnders and mentioned that it has given her a fresh perspective.
