Coronation Street Maureen Lipman is popular for her role as Evelyn Plummer. The soap star recently appeared on the Love Your Weekend show. When the host, Alan Titchmarsh, quizzed her about her future on the soap, the seasoned actress revealed that she isn’t exiting anytime soon and has signed to be on the soap for one more year.
“It’s good for you, it keeps you on your metal, my goodness me,” Maureen Lipman quipped. Furthermore, the CS star added that she is still in awe of the soap industry and finds it “completely fascinating.” Host Adam agreed with Maureen’s sentiments that one never gets bored of the work they do in the industry. He also went on to call it rather “stimulating”,
Maureen has been a mainstay on Coronation Street since 2018 and has been a fan favorite from her first scene. Upon Evelyn’s arrival on the soap, she reconnected with her grandson. They were previously estranged, however, as time passed the two developed a bond and she eventually joined him at the family home at No.9.
CS spoilers recall that her grandson is not the only one Evelyn reconnected with, she recently also reunited with her daughter- Cassie Plummer. While also forging a strange but heartwarming friendship with Roy Cropper. Thus, it is needless to say that she most certainly has many relationships on the soap that keep her very relevant to the storylines.

Earlier this year, news had surfaced that Maureen would be taking a break from the soap. This came as a stressor for fans who thought that her run as Evelyn could be coming to an end. However, her announcement at Adam’s show will certainly come as a huge relief to fans who love watching her on CS.
