The most iconic pair of EastEnders, Zainab, and Masood, have reunited in real life, which has sparked rumours about their explosive comeback. Long-time viewers know that Nina’s character bid adieu to the BBC soap in 2013 after her marriage with Masood ended. However, Nitin’s character stayed on the show for a bit longer, and he was last spotted in 2019.
And this real-life reunion is just what the doctor ordered. With so many fan-favourite characters returning to our screens ahead of the show’s 40th anniversary, we would love to see a Zainab-Masood reunion.
Both Nina and Nitin took to Instagram to post about meeting each other where they expressed shock at running into each other. Fans quickly noticed that Nina used Nitin’s character when referring to him, sparking theories that might truly be coming back.

This comes after Jane Beale dropped Masood’s name upon her return to the Square. In addition, the Zainab actress also recently opened up about her desire to return to the show. While speaking to The Sun, Nina mentioned that she’d love to come back to EastEnders to celebrate its 40th anniversary. BBC soap fans know that Jane recently came back to Walford and talked about how she is back together with Zainab’s ex, Masood.
And now that Ian’s ex is back in town, we can expect Masood to follow her steps. With this, we can expect Zainab to be right around the corner.
