Beth’s Final Scenes To Air Next Week

Lisa George has been playing Beth Sutherland since 2011. However, she is set to leave the soap now. During her chat on This Morning, the actress shared her feelings about saying goodbye to the show. She talked about how strange it feels to leave the cobbles and how she filmed her last scenes eight weeks ago. 

She admitted that it felt strange and that the reality of leaving hadn’t fully sunk in. She believed it wouldn’t hit her until she was no longer on screen. She added, “Friday will be my last scenes, and then I think it will start to sink in.” 

The soap star shared with hosts Craig Doyle & Sian Welby that she plans to celebrate the occasion by watching her final scenes with a drama school friend. She mentioned feeling anxious about life after Weatherfield. Still, she expressed excitement about starring in a pantomime production of Cinderella at Wyvern Theatre in Swindon later this year. 

The ITV star also provided insight into her first day playing Beth. She said, “‘I wasn’t that nervous because it was my fourth time on Corrie.” She mentioned that she had already met many of the characters over the years and had appeared in guest roles since 1997. 

Hence, she was excited, especially since it was alongside Simon Gregson and Katherine Kelly. In Weatherfield, Beth has been secretly making fake goods at the factory to surprise her partner Kirk with a wedding. However, her Underworld boss, Carla, got suspicious and accused Beth, Betsy, and Izzy of the scam.

Consequently, Beth had to quit her job. She even got caught red-handed by her son Craig and officer Kit while delivering the fake goods to the shady Sid. What will eventually lead her to exit?
