Leanne Battersby is about to go against Rowan Cunliffe because of her tricky blackmail scheme. Lately, Leanne has been drawn into the dangerous Institute led by the mysterious Rowan. Just last week, Amy Barlow got caught up in this cult too. She had to endure a horrifying ‘malware session.’
During the session, she wore a blindfold while people around her shouted nasty things, all based on private confessions she made to Rowan. Now, Amy is taking legal action against the Institute to reclaim her inheritance money. In the due episodes, Leanne will stumble upon the secret file of proof about Nick and Toyah’s affair.
As a result, she calls Nick to the Bistro. Meanwhile, Nick turns to the police about Rowan’s blackmail. He hands Lisa a notebook full of proof. At the same time, Leanne tells Amy she emailed herself Rowan’s computer files. Will this spell doom for the sinister cult?
Recently, actress Jane Danson, who plays Leanne, hints that Leanne will start questioning Rowan’s true intentions. The actress explained that Leanne’s initial reaction to discovering Rowan’s secret file is one of realisation, where she finally understands that Toyah was right about Rowan’s questionable actions all along.
She added, “I would definitely say there’s trouble ahead because you can’t go through all that and then just be okay.” The ITV star teased some possible emotional scars and mentioned that her character might feel foolish for having invested in what she believed was a genuine friendship.
She concluded, “This will obviously have some sort of psychological effect later.” However, we still need to know how much she knows about Toyah and Nick’s affair. And how will she react?
