BBC programme icon Ricky Groves, who used to portray the role of Garry Hobbs, was spotted meeting with former co-star Jamie Borthwick. The Jay Brown actor took to his Instagram story and posted a picture with Groves, captioning it: ‘Legend!’ The duo was seen together before Jamie was set to start filming this year’s Strictly Come Dancing launch show on Wednesday.
Furthermore, it seems like Ricky might’ve shared some words of wisdom with Jamie ahead of his dancing show debut. Fans know that the former soap actor himself was a contestant on the seventh series of the BBC ballroom show in 2009. As for Ricky’s stint on the longest-running soap, he made his debut as Lynne Slater’s husband in the year 2000. During his time, Garry was an integral part of several storylines, including Lynne’s losing their unborn baby.
The character was tried to commit suicide but was saved by Minty Peterson. He was last seen in 2009 after Ricky and his then-girlfriend Dawn Swann left the Square. After looking at Jamie’s post, longtime fans of the show couldn’t help but wonder that Garry should make a comeback to the soap. Ever since Ricky left the BBC series, he went to appear on Celebrity Coach Trip and has shot small stints in various TV movies and mini-series.
