Carla Connor and DS Lisa Swain have forged an unlikely friendship on Coronation Street. The two have been leaning on each other for support a lot in the recent past. However, the latest set of Corrie spoilers tease that their friendship could soon take an unexpected turn. But what causes this sudden shift in their dynamic? Let’s find out!
Those who tuned into the Monday episode of Coronation Street saw Carla Connor getting nearly attacked on screen. The incident left her shaking in her shoes, but thankfully DS Lisa Swain arrived in time to become her rock. In previous episodes, Carla came face to face with Tom- the father of the boy she knocked off with her door. She mouthed him off at the court, and he ended up following her to the Underworld factory.
At the factory, when he found Carla alone, he threatened her and forced his body onto her. Thankfully, DS Swain arrived there just in time and rescued Carla from Tom’s vile intentions. Tom was swiftly arrested, but the traumatic incident left Carla shaking. Lisa consoled her, and the two shared a tender moment where Carla thanked her friend for saving her.
Later. the two friends had a heart to heart over some glasses of wine in Carla’s apartment. Carla opens up to her friend about how stressed she is after receiving the divorce papers from Peter Barlow. Lisa once again reassures her that things will fall in place for her, as life is still going well for her.
Lisa too, opened up about her self-defeating thoughts and chastised her tendency to fall for the wrong kind of people. But Carla assured her that that wasn’t true, and showered her friend with compliments. The moment became really charged up and Lisa and Carla came really close to sharing a kiss.
