In 2021, the Days of Our Lives Lauren Koslow actress took everyone by surprise by sharing a shocking chapter from her past. Lauren revealed that she reunited with her son, Josh, whom she gave birth to at the tender age of sixteen. Did her husband, Nick Schillace know about this? In her chat with Woman’s World, the soap star opened up about this incredible journey.
Lauren has been busy raising three kids for the last thirty years with Nick. However, she was harboring a heartbreaking secret of being separated from her son all this while. Moreover, Koslow’s son was just three days old when she gave him up. Lauren recalled a producer telling her Kate should have more kids.
Yep, that’s how good she is at parenting. But little did anyone know it all came from her personal experience. “I acted cool about it, but inside, there was so much pain. It was always there, ready to inspire my acting.” Lauren believes, “A lot of actors, some of their best performances come out of things we’ve experienced.”
In the meantime, the DAYS star kept her search open to locate Josh and signed up for a DNA site. Sadly, the waiting game was excruciating and led her to stop checking for updates for a while. But one day, Lauren stumbled upon a connection on Ancestry.com, and she literally fell to her knees. Since their reunion, Lauren and Josh have been making up for lost time.
The duo took a road trip to help Josh learn more about his roots. Additionally, the past few years have been a mix of highs and lows, but Koslow is content with the current phase. “It’s a miracle in my life, and I’m forever grateful that we were able to reconnect,” she shared. Koslow thinks keeping the secret shaped her life, “It really is a coming out story, and you feel different afterward.”
