Ruby Allen is just days away from making a dramatic return to EastEnders and the new preview pictures tell us that she will get into a heated confrontation as soon as she arrives. The iconic character of Ruby is portrayed by talented actress Louisa Lytton and she has been away from our screens for three years. Long-time viewers know she was sent to prison for running an illegal cannabis farm and Jean Slater framed her.
EastEnders Spoilers for the coming week reveal that Ruby will burst into No.31 and confront Martin and Sharon over her son’s missing birth certificate. We know that the former character gave birth to Martin’s son in prison and Martin learned about it from Sharon. The BBC programme had already teased Ruby’s return when Chrissie Watts met with her step-daughter, Sharon behind bars.

Ahead of her big soap comeback, Lytton spoke to The Sun’s TV Mag and shed light on what’s in store for her character. She has promised that Ruby is coming back to Walford ‘with a lot of drama.’ She also noted that “Now she’s a mum, she does have her priorities in order. Although she’ll still make mistakes, I don’t think she’ll go out of her way to make mistakes or make wrong decisions like she has done in the past.”
Just like her role on the soap, Lytton became a mother in real life, so she might incorporate those into her portrayal, too. The actor admitted she was “so nervous” to return but quickly felt “like I’d never left.” It looks like Ruby finally has a purpose in her life that has been missing for a long time.
