Camila Banus created a true legacy on Days of Our Lives as Gabi Hernandez. Thus, when the actress and the soap parted ways, fans were really upset. Neither did they want to lose Camila, nor did they want to lose Gabi. However, a few months after Camilla’s exit as Gabi, the character was recast, and actress Cherie Jimenez came on board as the new face for the legacy character.
However, getting a hang of the character, and the soap business has been a learning curve for Cherie Jimenez on Days of Our Lives. But we must admit, the newbie has settled quite well into the character. Her fresh energy has definitely managed to breathe new life into Gabi Hernandez. Understandably, starting fresh on soaps is an overwhelming task, the amount of lines and the number of scenes tey film in a day is daunting.
But that’s not the only thing, it also takes a little bit of time to wrap your head around what works for you on the camera appearance-wise – wardrobe, makeup, etc. Initially, when Cherie debuted as Gabi, there was a lot of chatter on social media around her choice of lipstick shades, and makeup in general. However, in more recent episodes, Cherie has made some changes in Gabi’s appearance, and fans have noticed!
“You might think this is an odd comment, but since you and Stefan split up, your character has been wearing less makeup. You look much more realistic and prettier, too,” a fan wrote on social media, appreciating the actress’s effort and fine-tuned appearance. Turns, out Cherie had actually been putting work into it, and was happy to know that the changes were visible and appreciated.

“That was actually per my request as the first three months, I was wearing too much makeup and it just didn’t look flattering,” the Days actress confidently admitted. Furthermore, she assured the fans that in the coming five months they will notice more such changes in her makeup and overall appearance.
