Linda Learns The Truth About His GAY Dad!
EastEnders legend Elaine Peacock had no choice but to reveal a major secret that she’d kept for decades about her late father, Brian, and their marriage. We recently saw the Queen Vic landlady opening up to her daughter, Linda, about her ex-husband and revealed that he was gay. Elaine also told Linda about Brian’s affair with Drew, which she knew about for most of their marriage.
This comes after Johnny Carter booked a drag queen named Drew Peacock for Elaine’s hen party before she ties the knot with George. The shocking arrival of her ex-husband’s lover took Elaine by surprise, which also intrigued Linda and Johnny Carter. The revelation about her macho dad will be a lot to take for panic-stricken Linda, who has received the shocking news.
While speaking to Radio Times, Elaine star Harriet Thorpe shed light on the storyline and said, “What’s really important for me and for the woman that Elaine is today is that she had no shame about it. She loved her husband and wanted to support him in his choice. He was scared.” The soap actress also added that she wanted to honour her husband because of his macho image, he wasn’t able to deal with judgement back in 2014.

Thorpe also discussed the shock of seeing Drew again and said Elaine knew this person whose husband died. And there is another person who pretended everything was normal for their daughter and husband and is now getting married to another person—a lot of things happened in a short time, which made her feel, ‘Does she have value?’ It is a big moment for Elaine and life-altering for Linda.
Speaking of Linda, Harriet said, “Again, Linda loves, loved and idolised her father, but she had no real idea of what it was like as a mother, to be this tough person, to pretend everything’s okay, run the pub, do everything.” Even though Linda thinks that her mother was not there for her – maybe she will understand now.
