Leo Stark, the god of mischief had just shifted gears from his typical scheming to something light. The Day of Our Lives character, played by Greg Rikaart, was leading a good life. Yep, working on Body & Soul’s reboot and romancing Javi was a bonus. But his happiness fizzled out when details from his prized laptop reached the Internet. Who’s to blame? Javi Harnandez (Al Calderon) it is! Could this be Leo’s shortest love story yet?
Rikaart Talks Javi and the Fallout
The Days of Our Love actor recently touched upon Leo’s roller-coaster romance during a chat with Soap Opera Digest. So, when major plot twists of the show leaked online, Leo immediately pointed the finger at Javi. After all, only the new guy had access to Leo’s laptop. Little did Leo know that pinning the blame on your lover isn’t the best way to keep the spark alive.
Consequently, Javi was quick to call it quits, leaving Leo guilt-ridden. The DAYS actor believes the fallout hit Leo harder than expected. “Leo second-guess himself, and he feels regret,” he shared. Greg added, “Leo tries to make amends, but Javi wants no part of it.” Then, Rikaart also drew a parallel between this doomed romance and Leo’s past heartbreak with Dimitri (Peter Porte).
Greg says these messy relationships are nothing new for his character. Sadly, the feeling for Javi ran deeper this time. Additionally, Rikaart revealed that Leo considered this new romantic situation more than a fling. He explained, “For Leo, it felt like it wasn’t really just a one-night stand. Rikaart is happy to act alongside Calderon, despite limited time to bond before shooting. Naturally, it isn’t easy to reflect deep emotions when there’s less interaction with fellow co-stars. Ultimately, Greg and Al did connect over time. “He’s very emotionally available, and we’ve bonded over some similar life experiences…It’s been a nice evolution,” shared Rikaart.
While Rikaart hopes for more between Leo and Javi, he can’t resist drama, satting that happy couples are boring.
