Okay! So we saw this coming long ago! Billy Abbott and Sally Spectra finally hit the sheets on The Young and The Restless in a recent episode. While many people would think that it was an act of revenge on their cheating partners, the characters feel differently. After the culmination of the act, Billy and Sally discussed that they had been feeling “feelings” for each other for a while, and it had nothing to do with Adam and Chelsea cheating on them.
Interestingly, it seems their hookups are not going to remain a bedroom secret on the soap! After the steamy sheet ripping, the two made out in public, and guess who spotted them? Why, Adam Newman of course! Thus, we can assume that Billy and Sally’s romance is about to become the next nig thing on The Young and The Restless. In fact, that’s not all!
In a recent chat with Soap Opera Digest, Y&R’s executive producer and head writer, Josh Griffith, discussed the romances on the soap. He teased that in the upcoming stretch, fans may get to see a hot love triangle involving Billy, Sally, and Phyllis! Well, that’s a trio that could create a lot of mess! So, bring it on we say!
“There’s Billy and Sally. There’s Billy and Phyllis. I think working with Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) has been great. We feed off each other a lot. I think Billy and Phyllis have been there in the past, but they actually have an interesting relationship now,” Jason Thompson quipped when Michael Fairman TV quizzed him about the two women in Billy Abbott’s life.
For the unversed, Billy and Phyllis were quite hot and heavy in the past, and actually share a long history together- good, bad, and ugly! In fact, at one point, Billy even slept with Phyllis’ daughter- Summer, for revenge! However, it was only once, despite the fact that Summer relentlessly pursued him. Speaking about Sally’s portrayer Courtney Hope, Jason stated that he loves working with her.
“She’s so fun and so prepared, all that kind of stuff. There’s always so much story to tell, which I’m stoked (about), because a lot can happen with this character,” he said. Speaking about his character, Jason added that he loves how Billy functions even though his impulses often end up in catastrophic events. He added that he tries not to add guardrails to Billy, as that’s something the character does not have!
We wonder if these impulsive decisions are what end up landing him in a messy love triangle with Sally and Phyllis! We guess we’ll find out soon! Until then, who are you rooting for?
