In a surprising turn of events, Kate Middleton and Prince William will not be attending King Charles’ highly anticipated royal Christmas lunch this year. Kate Middleton & William have decided to join the King for Christmas for the morning. This is the first time the royals unite following the family’s year-long cancer battle. However, they will most probably move away for the lunch. This festive celebration will mark the first time the royal clan have come together after a tumultuous year for the monarch and William’s wife. Both of them were diagnosed with cancer within days of each other. The duo also spent time in the same hospital at the same time for several days in January.
While King was being ‘toddled’ down the hospital corridor to support his daughter-in-law as the pair recovered from surgeries. After such a difficult year, the whole family is all set to come together once again. However, Kate Middleton and William might not attend the Christmas lunch after attending the main service at St Mary Magdalene on the Sandringham estate.

As per a royal commentator, Emily Andrews, the Waleses are hoping to have the Christmas dinner with the Middletons. Andrews took to her column in Woman and wrote, “They prefer the informality of a relaxed lunch at nearby Anmer Hall. And I understand (they) will do so again this year, with the addition of the Middleton family.” We know that Anmer Hall is a special place for Waleses. It is also the place that acted as retreat during Kate’s health journey.
As for the King, he has been preparing his Sandringham home ready to welcome the family to Norfolk for the festive holidays. Royal sources revealed how Charles has been touring the estate and main house this week, busy liaising with staff about Christmas plans.
