It looks like Meghan Markle’s royal charm finally lost its sparkle at Netflix! While we were all awaiting the former actress’ much-anticipated culinary project, the streaming giant has now changed the direction. And they’ve slam dunk a new partnership with none other than basketball legend LeBron James. Netflix might be looking at swapping royal recipes for a courtside kitchen. Netflix Chooses LeBron Over Meghan!
It has been quite some time since Meghan Markle was last seen on screen. The last time royals saw her was in the 2022 docuseries Harry & Meghan and a few short segments in Heart of Invictus, both for Netflix. The fans have eagerly been waiting for her culinary experiment on the streaming giant but before it could hit our screens, Netflix has now reportedly signed LeBron for a similar project and put Meghan on the backburner.
According to reports, Netflix has paired up with basketball icon LeBron Hames for a cooking series which will release around the same time as Duchess’ show. The much-loved platform has collaborated with LeBron James’ SpringHill Company and Alfred Street Industries for a new reality cooking competition series titled Next Gen Chef. Furthermore, the casting of the show started in April, and its production will begin in June of next year.
The timeline of this coincides with Meghan Markle’s yet-to-be-named cooking show, which is also set to debut early next year. The launch will also be around the same time as the debut of her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard. However, there have been no further updates on the show. And the mother-of-two’s lifestyle brand has also hit a snag due to trademarking issues.

It seems like Netflix is gearing to dominate the culinary entertainment space with LeBron’s cooking competition series and Meghan Markle’s unnamed culinary show.
