Former EastEnders star Vicki Michelle has dropped a shocking hint about her return to Walford. This bombshell comes after she and co-star Brian Conley left the show last year. Regular viewers know that Vicki took over the role of Jo Cotton in March 2023 and became a fan-favorite soon. But, the actress had to leave after her soap writers changed her storyline but will she be coming back? Let’s dive into what Michelle said in an interview!
Is Jo Cotton Coming Back On EastEnders?
EastEnders legend Vicki Michelle, who portrayed the iconic Jo Cotton, has teased a return a year after she left the show with co-star Brian. We know Brian Conley played Tom, aka ‘Rocky’ Cotton, on the BBC soap, but when he decided to leave, Vicki’s character also got affected. She first made her debut in March last year, and her last scenes aired a few months later.
While speaking to The Sun, Michelle noted how her character was supposed to appear for longer. But, she was written out because of Conley’s decision to depart. She said, “And then I think there was some, I don’t know, something else came up. And so he (Brian) decided to do that instead.” The actress also mentioned how the storyline would’ve gone on because she had a rivalry thing going on with Gilian’s character, Kathy.
The popular I’m A Celeb alum also added, “So, I think they can bring you back if you’re a good character. She could come back.” We know that Brian left the show after the bosses banned him from doing any lucrative pantomime gigs. He also spoke to The Sun earlier this year and said, “I’m a live performer, I love being live, I love getting out there.” It looks like because of Brian’s decision, Vicki’s character also suffered.
