Now that Christmas is just around the corner, Coronation Street spoilers are laying the groundwork for some major drama. This year, unfortunately, Shona and David are at the center of it – and if the latest developments are to be trusted, their relationship is hanging by a thread. And now, with David’s lies coming forth – can their relationship finally make it? Let’s see.
David’s Secret Finally Come to Light
In the Wednesday episode, we saw how David confided in Max about hiding Clayton’s visiting orders for Shona from the prison. He even went ahead and met Clayton himself – and also said Shona didn’t want to meet her son.
To us, it seemed like pure betrayal how he went behind Shona and did all this. In fact, his words were the reason Clayton tried to kill himself later. I don’t think it’s going to be an easy way back for him.
Will Shona Know the Truth?
Even though Max initially agreed to keep the truth under the wraps, he changed his decision when he saw Shona getting desperate for answers.
Shona headed straight to jail and lost her temper with the prison governor when she didn’t get any answers to Clayton’s missing emails. She is probably suspecting the administration here, but little does she know that David is behind all this.
Later, Max stepped in to set the record straight and calm her down. He said, “It’s not them you should be having a go at—they are not the ones lying. David is. He obviously didn’t want anything bad to happen, but he didn’t want you to see Clayton. So he deleted the emails, made sure the rest went to junk, and binned the visiting orders.”
Kate Comments On David-Shona Storyline
Coronation Street‘s producer Kate Brooks told other press:
“The Platts are at the heart of Christmas. You’ve got David and Shona – and David has made massive mistakes in hiding visiting orders from Clayton. This goes on to have massive consequences, and Shona hits that self-destruct button in the build-up to Christmas and makes some really terrible judgment calls. What is important for me about David and Shona is that they can both really mess up, but the love that they have is so strong. But can they overcome that? I don’t know. All those secrets come to the forefront on Christmas Day.”
Shona Walks Away from the Platts
Once Shona got out of the brief prison time for assaulting the prison governor – she refused to go back home. Instead, she asked cabbie Steve McDonald to drive her back to the town.
While the details of Shona’s night away remain a mystery, Coronation Street spoilers suggest that her absence will play a key role in the storyline’s build-up to Christmas. There’s even speculation that Shona might cheat on David in a moment of desperation. Is it true? Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily to get answers to all your questions.
