Coronation Street spoilers reveal that this week as a major Corrie star, who just landed his dream role a year back, is now bidding goodbye to the cobbles. As viewers, we kind of fell for his cult-leader character from the moment he appeared – and maybe we weren’t ready for him to leave just yet.
Shocking Introduction to Weatherfield
Just like other Coronation Street characters, Emrhys Cooper, aka Rowan Cunliffe’s entry, was quite shocking to us. Out of nowhere, we saw him introducing Leanne as the leader of the self-help positivity group called The Institute.
Later, we also saw Rowan manipulating Leanne into joining the cult, ultimately leaving her relationships and finances in tatters. He also went a step forward and manipulated Leanne to convince Amy Barlow to invest her inheritance in a new resource center.
But once Leanne saw Rowan for who he really was, she made it her mission to take revenge for herself as well as for Amy. She was determined to make Rowan pay for his crimes.
Rowan’s Most Exciting Storyline
Leanne finally confronted Rowan and exposed all his lies. Even though it took a huge emotional toll on Leanne, she remained strong and kept remembering how Rowan had ruined her life and didn’t even leave Amy.
But shortly, Rowan also fought back, bringing forth Nick and Toyah’s illicit affair. Though Leanne had an outburst in the courtroom, it didn’t hamper the decision—and justice was served. Finally, Rowas was found guilty, and Amy was relieved to get some of her money back.
Emrhys Cooper Bids Farewell to Coronation Street
Monday marked the final end of Emrhys’ time in Coronation Street, and to bid it off, he shared an Instagram post. By attaching some sneak peeks from the soap, he wrote:
“And that’s a wrap on Rowan. About this time last year, I found out I got the part on @coronationstreet in the middle of the night! I was living in California at the time when I checked my phone, and there it was… the big news. An incredible early Christmas present.
I had been quite homesick for a while and felt the urge to move back to the UK to be closer to my family after living in the USA for the past 15 years. It was also uncanny how the cult storyline resonated with my personal journey and childhood. Getting this part felt like a sure sign from the universe that it was written in the stars for me to return home. I haven’t looked back!
Working on Corrie has been one of the most incredible professional experiences of my life. What a family, what a tradition, what a national treasure! Thank you so much, Coronation Street! To the cast, crew, and everyone involved ❤️ Lastly, I want to say I will forever be grateful to the amazing fans who embraced the evil Rowan despite all his dastardly deeds. Also, thank you, Manchester!” Now that Rowan is no longer there, are the upcoming Coronation Street spoilers hinting at a new entry in the show? Only time will tell – stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily to find out!
