The recent Emmerdale spoilers have confirmed that Jacob Gallagher has arranged a date with someone in the village. If everything goes as planned, we will see them together around the festive season. As far as we can recall, Jacob has been single ever since his split from Victoria Barton back in spring. Since then, he has been focused on his medical studies and career. But now, he has developed an interest in Sarah Sudgen during the Christmas week, and we see the pair flirting with each other.
Jacob Arranges a Romantic Date
In the upcoming week, we will see Jacob arranging an official romantic date with Sarah. But Jacob’s mom is here to boulder his “first-date” plans. She says she wants to go for lunch with him—and wouldn’t take no for an answer. We don’t know, but it feels like Leyla is already aware of Jacob and Sarah’s date and is deliberately trying to sabotage it. Though Jacob agrees to go on lunch, he tries to reschedule the date with Sarah.
As the spoilers suggest, Sarah is pissed at Jacob for standing her up. But after he apologizes and explains the whole situation to her, she agrees to go on another date. We are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping for them to become the next iconic village couple, but it seems like Leyla isn’t in for it and may create problems for them. Soon, we will see Jacob’s romantic story leading up to a one-hour special episode where we will also witness his first day at the hospital – that too, in the A&E department.
Jacob’s One-Hour Special Episode
Sophie Roper, the Emmerdale producer, has talked about the special episode, which will take place entirely in the hospital. In it, we will follow Jacob through his difficult first day at the hospital’s Accident and Emergency Department. She said, “Accident and Emergency is a place many of our characters end up in, but seldom by choice.” As the episode unfolds, Jacob will encounter some challenging situations that also affect some of our Emmerdale villagers, pushing Jacob to his limits both professionally and personally.”
Joe-Warren Plant, who plays Jacob, added by saying, “Tackling this storyline scared me at first, but I feel honored to know they trusted me enough to tell it. “That means such a lot, and I feel very honored.” It will be interesting to see how Jacob tackles it all on his first day.
