Coronation Street popular actor Tracie Bennett has updated fans that she is undergoing nasty surgery. She plays Sharon Gaskell/Bentley on the show and updated her fans last month that she had a bad finger infection. The actress started playing her role in 1982 and left the show in 2021. She has definitely made an impact, and with this worrying news about her finger infection – we can’t be more tense.
Tracie Opens Up About Her Infection
Recently, Tracie Bennett opened up on Twitter about her finger infection. While it may sound like a minor issue, the infection was really serious. She wrote, “Let’s count the hours from now of how long I’ll be in A&E with a seriously infected finger. I’ve been on antibiotics since Monday, but they haven’t worked. Ouch. I haven’t slept properly. Hoping it’s not long. Torture. Place your bets.” on X/Twitter.
While in pain, she eventually became growingly frustrated with the frustrating waiting times and added, “Being seen. Finally. All a nightmare. An x-ray, and now they can’t even take blood cos they don’t know how or what they’re doing? Why? Just lance it? Hours of Agony.” Then, the heartfelt messages of fans came in, and fans wrote: “Sending all the love, Tracie! Hoping for a swift recovery…Rest, recuperate and relax xxx.” Another added: ‘It’s awful you had to go through all that! I’m glad to hear you’re on the mend. And with you 100% on not waiting if something’s wrong. Wishing you a speedy recovery.’
Tracie Shared an Update on the Infection
Soon after posting on Twitter, the Corrie actress posted on Twitter again to reassure her fans that she was going in for surgery within 24 hours. She followed up, saying, “Update. Ouch. Still healing,” she wrote. “New pink (gammon) skin growing underneath the damage. Shame it doesn’t do that on my face.” Imagine going through so much, so fast – we feel sorry for her.
